"Go! Go! Goooo!” dive master’s yell made us race to jump to the water.
All at once, four diver jumps to the water with back roll technique, sit down on ship side and fallen down to the water with backbone touch the surface first. From the surface of water, we directly go down to the depth.
Blue Corner, that place is where we belong. This site exists at the corner of Nusa Lembongan, one of three islands at south east of Bali Island. Two others island are Nusa Penida and Nusa Ceningan.
Sea is very friendly, the skies are blues.......but..there is something different...the water surface, there is moving....
Yesss!! Your right! The sea of Blue Corner almost have fast stream! The stream could reach 3-5 knot. No way againts th stream, we dive follow the stream. The air buble flow out not to upstair but to the edge. We like fly away.
The sea water transparent, the appear are 20-30 meters to front, but the temperature is cold. Could reach 17 Celcius.
Speedy stream made the corals shorty, mostly stone corals. Fish always like streamy water, thereis a lot of food here. Ten minutes we dive, there are a lot of fish we have seen. Kuwe fishes, measuring 60-80 cm through away in 15 meters depth, also surgeon fishes, flag fishes, and others thousand fishes which could not account.
Three white fin shark observed in 20 meters depth. A couple of rayfish through from the distance. The uniquely sequent, the fishes swim againts the streams.
What purpose did we want to discover in Nusa Penida?The main purpose is not watch the fishes above which we’ve seen. We want see and if we luck, we want hold peculiar fish because the uniquely shape. We called that fish as ”Molie’ Mola!!!!
.............................After 15 minutes passed away, in 20 meters depth we go to 30 meters depth, where Mola-mola fish belong. The stream go slowly, so we can relax. Suddenly, our divemaster index finger in front of us.....Wow!How excited thing we see!!!two mola-mola in front of us.
The right one is more bigger, the diameters about 2 meters more, maybe male. The other one have 1, 5 meters of diameters. The skin is gray with black dot. What are they doing in 25 meters dept???
Both of they surrounde by cleaner fishes, little fish with blue skin, blak lines. That little fish clean up mola-mola skin from parasit and skin bugs. We also saw yellow flag fishes with black stripes take action in this ceremony.
Five minutes we observed those two mola-mola. The mouth like circle hole and always open, seems funny. The eyes which also circle seems watch us. Seducting to touch the skin, we move close to that fish.
Seems that we just met, mola-mola move far from us. It is not easy to touch them!!! They still lookout from us.
Slowly, but sure, mola-mola move to the depth...27...30...32...until 35 meters...and we aware, we couldn’t go to the depth. Thiny air backup can make difficult situation to us if we resist move down. According to safety procedur, we have to move up. With a broken heart...we move up, leave away the funny, funky, peculiar mola-mola.
Mola-mola fish
Mola-mola fish is peculiar fish. The shape is peculiar...strange...is not common if we compare about fish shape in our mind.
The head and body , flat circle, 1-4 diameters (the fish is huge!!!), have two fin erect up and down with the measuring almost as wide as its body. A couple of little fin at side of head, circle eyes, and circle mouth, not in lips shape. And the tail?No..no.. mola-mola fish have no tail!!!
Because of its shape, so people called that fish according to the shape. Mola is roll rock in Latin language. Schwimmenderkopf, Germany said, it means, swimming head. Yes, mola-mola only shaped from head and fin. This fish also known as oceanic sunfish because the shape is round like sun, or its fovourite, take sun bath at the surface of ocean.
Mola-mola is the biggest hard bone at this time. Shark fish is bigger, but shark classified as soft bone fish. Whale fish also bigger, but whale is classified as mamalia. Once, ther is mola-mola catched, the size is 3,35 meters and 2,235 tons weight!!!!
Without tail, mola-mola move with their fin. Althought the size is big and the weight can reach over than 1,000 kilograms, the expert classified this fish as puffer fish family.
Mola-mola like cold temperature, and live in subtropic ocean. For defend of cold temperature, they have thick skin. Their favourite meals are jellyfish.
This fish often seems in group, tame, and not afraid with human. At Nusa Penida, once watched a group of 5, 10, 16, even 20 mola-mola. Their slowly movement, make this fishes become prey. But thanks God, their big size and thick skin (about 10-15 cm) protect them.
Why Nusa Penida?
There are a lot of diving area in Indonesia, lot of beautiful and excotic diving area in Indonesia, but you only see mola-mola in Nusa Penida. And you only see mola-mola at July-October. This couples years, made Bali, The island of Gods, Gods island become mola-mola season. More cold the water temperature, mola-mola more like to appear theirself.
Why they like third island in Bali? Because a lot of meals or the cold water? Why not in Lombok, Flores, or Timor which the location is more south. Where they belong at November-June? At nusa Penida they find their couples?
Bali, in fact, also beautiful in down of waters...the mola-mola is value added to tourism in Bali. Mola-mola is diving icon in Bali.
Bali is Gods Island. Maybe mola-mola is dearly love of Gods?Because only in Bali we easy to see them............................

ANAK KRAKATAU MOUNTAIN, SCREAMNESS BEAUTY

Gray smokes concentrated billowing from the top of the legendary dome. Stand on it slope while remembering again the great explosion of its prime mountain 120 years ago, make nape of the neck make feel suddenly frightened. Maybe not equal if we compare it with stand on top of Everest, but be at under this mountain dome which have tall about 230 meter from sea surface is very screamness.
Anak Krakatau mountain is located on Sunda Strain, at the middle of Java Isaland and Sumatera Island, Indonesia. This mountain is an active vulcano on the middle of sea. This mountain turn up from sea at 1927, in the middle of caldera which submerged with sea, residue of great explosion at 1883.
According to administration, Anak Krakatau, include three islands surrounded it, become a part of Tejang village, Sebesi Island, Rajabasa Sub district, Lampung Selatan District, Lampung Province.
The trip to this mountain begin when ride boat together with goods and many passenger from Canti Beach Quay, Lampung Selatan District. Little ship slowly crack the sea water. East wind season in July make the wave not high. Usually high/scream wave happen at west wind season, about December until February. Trip from Canti Beach to Sebesi Island about 3 hours. The cost is Rp 5,000 or about USD 0, 56.
On Sebesi Island, at a place on islan border, called Gubug Seng, The top of Anak Krakatau seems blue blur. Three islands which surrounded also seems blue, there are Sertung Island, Rakata Island, and Panjang Island. When raining season happen, that mountain seems clear at this place, and more beautiful when vulcanic activity increasing.
Anak Krakatau Mountain also could reach from Selat Sunda beach, Banten area, Java Island. In fact, the traveller mostly rech the mountain from Banten trip area, such as Anyer, Karang Bolong, Carita, even Tanjung Lesung.
At the Banten beach are, some travel agency serve Anak Krakatau trip packet. If you going to trip with boat, several boats ready to use at some beach location in Banten.
With rent a boat from Tejang village (the cost Rp 500,000 or USD 50), the journey begins....!!! The boat owner want to guide us go around Anak Krakatau and come back to Canti Beach.
The boat continue to shaky, follow wave of Sunda Strain. Distance from Sebesi Island until Anak Krakatau is 8 sea miles. The trip to Anak Krakatau about 1, 5 hours.
About 7 am, climbing journey on Anak Krakatau slope begins. The road to island seems clear, not to long, we’ll see forest with sand soil......The top of vulcano seems clearly....more higher we climb, the slope more steep. The scream feeling begins, worry if suddenly throw up a lava. The sand which step on sometimes slip off, make the step more heavy. Snad slope which often slip off growed with pines tree which still small.
A journey to this vulcano dome not too long, its about 30 minutes. The climb reach severals sand heap, lines heap so like fortress. The dome and the heaps bordered with valley about 50 metrers down. This back bone side of Anak Kakratau face at Panjang Island.

BALIEM VALLEY, UNLIMITED ENCHANTMENT OF NATURE

Baliem Valley, Papua, is one of the most popular valley in the world. This valley is surrounded by snowing mountain.
If you like tracking, go to Sogokmo, about 15 km of Wamena. From that place, you can tracking the mountain to Holesi, Seinma, and Ninia villages which still genuine with their Honai house (originally house of the ethnic of Papua), before climb on to Jayawijaya mountain range, you’ll cross a wide tundra, then cross Baliem river which have strong flow in rain weather, through hanging bridge.
Other field of nature which you could track is go to Makki sub district, Perime sub district. From that place, you can track down to valleys which full of vegetables field and beautiful villages. And if your physic are first-rate, you can climb to Trikora peak/top pr even Cartenz top.
But if you do not like tracking, Baliem Valley have Kurulu village which become famous becuase its mummy, which 350 years old. Actually, there are two villages of Dani also have mummies, that are Aikima and Pummo. But, the condition of mummy in Kurulu much better, and that place is ready to be a trip place. Kurulu is about 50 km at the north of Wamena.
Wanna have some souvenirs from Baliem Valley?? Commonly, people who get trip or travel to Papua only know koteka for souvenir, but in Baliem Valley, you’ll get better tahn koteka. In Wamena its self, you’ll see souvenir shops which sell kind of stone axs, traditional neckless, tie of ethnic chief, noken bag, also water bag from gourd.

REOG, WAROK, AND GEMBLAK

REOG :
In Ponorogo city, East Java Province, have a traditional happening art and dance, called Reog, and Warok included with that culture. In a Reog show, usually appear 12 warok (10 young warok, and 2 old warok). They wear very much so bravely.
Young warok wear a black clothing, usus-usus (long giant white rope), giant belt, Keris (Javanese traditional sword), gadung mondholan (black head tailed). Warok’s chin wearing dense whiskers, and his chest hairy painted. Old warok are more calmly, without make up, modang (brown head tailed), and leather sandals.
Although the show are over acting, Reog tell a broken hart story. They say, Prabu Klana Sewandana, king of Bantarangin kingdom, delegate knight, whom leader by Pujangga Anom to purpose Princess of Kediri, Sangga Langit.
In the middle of destination, that knight group attacked by Singo Barong (giant lion). Pujangga Anom was loss, finally King Klana Sewandana fight against that lion. Singo Barong loses, and become Dadak Merak (Lion with hairy peacock).
Arrive in Kediri, Princess Sangga Langit wants to be married with one condition, The King should held an attractive show which never held before, so the King held a fighting dance which called Reog, but unfortunately, The King cannot married the princess.
WAROK :
Reog show cannot mention without warok. Warok, in Javanese language means giant thing or powerful. Warok term turn up with Suromenggolo knight and Surogentho knight whose live around 14th century. They say, both of those knights were stumble to get a prince for their daughter. At that war, both of knights have divine power.
The divine power is the primarily thing of warok. For have a warok degree, someone have to learn divine power for years.
At this day, you still can see warok. Usually they become a citizen both of formal and non-formal leader in his village.
GEMBLAK:
Gemblak become controversial side of warok and reog culture. Gemblek is young boy whom warok take care to substitute a woman in a sexual behavior. Nowadays, gemblak is transferring to an adoption child, not a sexual behavior substitute anymore.

LIFE CYCLE AROUND POSO LAKE
Poso Lake is located in Tentena, Pamona sub district, Poso district, Sulawesi Tengah (Central Sulawesi) Province, Sulawesi Island, one of big island in Indonesia. The range of Lake Poso is about 32,324 acre, the depth is reach attain 510 meter. The water is clear following away its depth. Lake Poso is the third number of the biggest lake in Indonesia.
Tentena position is on the branch road of Trans-Sulawesi, the weather is cool, and Tentena is above 657 meter of sea surface, so it’s suitable to traveler.
Formerly, Lake Poso is a spirit of Central Sulawesi. Before disturbance intercommunity among citizen broke, around Lake Poso was held a culture festival. A citizen with different background are united, dance which known as Dero dancing, with Sogili meal as accompanist (Sogili is a big eel which endemic animal in Poso Lake). Nowadays, Lake Poso Festival does no longer exist; the custom house is empty and not is well taken care. It’s just glorious records that have been fallen down.
Nowadays, at a morning sunrise, fisherman boat and children who’s swimming in the lake become a usual image. At sunset twilight come, group of cow wagon carry a water while house well dry. At the moonlight come true, on the central of lake, you’ll see a light as spearman fish accompanist. All of that make as a sign from Lake Poso, which waiting for spirit enthusiasm comeback, and make loud around Lake Poso, and make citizen united again.
